Sharon Owens Accepts Endorsements from Andrea Stewart-Cousins, Corey Williams,
and UAW Region 9

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Democratic and Working Families Party candidate for Mayor of Syracuse Sharon Owens announced she received the endorsements of New York State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, Syracuse Common Councilor Corey Williams, and the United Auto Workers (UAW) Region 9.

Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins said, “Sharon Owens is the steady, compassionate, and results-driven leader Syracuse needs right now. She has shown she can bring people together, protect public safety, expand affordable housing, and grow good-paying union jobs—all while governing with integrity. I’m proud to endorse Sharon because she will deliver for every neighborhood and every family in Syracuse.”

Councilor Williams said, “During my time on the Common Council, I have requested the assistance of the Deputy Mayor a number of times. Not only did she deliver, but went above and beyond my expectations each time. I look forward to working with Mayor Owens and proudly endorse her historic candidacy.”

In their endorsement letter, UAW Region 9 said, "Your positions reflect a clear understanding of the issues that matter to UAW members, working families, and the broader labor movement. We extend this endorsement with the hope that, if elected, you will continue to uphold and promote the values we fight for every day: dignity in the workplace, fair wages, strong labor standards, and policies that protect the rights of all workers."

The endorsement from Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins, Councilor Williams and UAW Region 9 add to a growing coalition of elected leaders, labor organizations, community advocates, and everyday Syracusans rallying behind Owens’ vision for an inclusive, equitable, and forward-looking Syracuse.
